National Ocean Sciences Bowl

I am currently A team captain for Lexington High School’s National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) team. NOSB is a buzzer-based competition where students answer graduate level questions on marine sciences. I specialize in marine biology and social sciences. Our regional competition is the Blue Lobster Bowl at MIT.

11th grade: 3rd place at Nationals, regional champions - A team, marine biology and ocean policy lead

10th grade: 2nd regionally! Captain of B team, marine biology lead.

Running practices virtually due to COVID was quite unique, but a lot of fun. Throughout the season, I and other Captains organized virtual scrimmages with teams from around the country, including Georgia, California and even Hawaii. We placed 2nd regionally (lost by 1 question to Lexington High School’s A team who went on to place 2nd at the national competition!)

9th grade: Regional Champions, and 13th nationally. Alternate on B team, physical oceanography main.
